iPod PARTY TIPS

Remember the 4 P's, Plan, Plan, Plan and Practice, we offer an extended hire period with the wedding package at no extra cost, to enable you to have a practice, use it !!

Use 2 iPods, it can be done with 1, but 2 are better, if your music's on a laptop, it's better still, use it, it will connect to our equipment. Rip your MP3 files at a high bit rate, 198 kbps is OK, 320 kbps is better

Plan a 'running order' in addition to 'playlists' and alternate selections between players at natural 'break points'

Always include extra tracks in each sector case of an over run in your calculations. it happens, even to pros!

Load the entire playlist content onto both iPods, it will give you more flexibility to 'react to the floor'

If possible have a backup iPod or laptop with the music loaded on to it, just in case one goes on the blink!

Nominate a responsible person (a bit techie is good) to 'keep an eye on things' and make any announcements, or intervene if needed

Have a selection of evenings disco tracks on both players so you can dump a track that's clearing the floor without an embarrassing gap.

From a DJ's perspective the music is not for you, you should be playing songs your guests want to hear and dance to.

If you've a mixed age group, include plenty of party classics in the early evening disco, save the dancey chart tunes for later on

If you hire our PA systems we will provide you (free of charge) with playlists selected by a pro DJ + telephone support if requested

Resist the urge to 'motormouth' on the microphone, it's not cool, remember, less is more!

Run your MP3 files through MP3Gain before loading them into your iPod, it's free, it's easy, and will ensure a constant level of volume

If you are holding your party in a marquee with power from a generator, try to connect any sensitive equipment, i.e. laptops, HD players, controllers etc to the household mains if at all possible.
